Our ten-year-old son wanted to ride his bike around the neighbourhood.
Walk to a friend's house. Go a little further on his own.

And we wanted that for him too.

What we didn't want was to hand him a smartphone.

We didn’t want social media.
We didn’t want an expensive device he could lose.
We didn’t want to lock ourselves into another costly data plan.

All we needed was a basic device that would let him contact us
if he needed to, without opening the door to everything else.

So we decided to build it.
The idea started with his father, Scott.
Though he is no longer with us, we’re carrying his vision forward
with a simple alternative for families like ours.
